El día jueves 26 de julio del año en curso, el geólogo Dante Salomo presentó la conferencia “Riesgo de inundación en Poljes, el caso de San José de Paraíso, Oaxaca”, en la que hizo una clara exposición de cómo los conocimientos kársticos y la práctica espeleológica pueden contribuir al beneficio colectivo de una comunidad. La conferencia se efectuó en el local del Centro Peninsular de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales de la UNAM (CEPHCIS) y fue organizada por el Grupo Espeleológico Ajau.
Al terminar la conferencia se procedió a un segundo evento que consistió en otorgar merecido reconocimiento por escrito al Maestro Jaime Raymundo Concha Echazarreta, por haber autorizado que el Grupo Ajau realice los trabajos de investigación en la Cueva de las Anguilas que se encuentra en los terrenos de su propiedad, manifestando con este hecho su loable actitud hacia la ciencia y el cuidado del medio ambiente.

On Thursday July 26th of this year, the geologist Dante Salomo presented the conference “Poljes flood risk, the case of San José de Paradise, Oaxaca”, in which he made clear how the knowledge of the speleology can contribute to the collective benefit of a community. The conference was held in the premises of the Peninsular Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences of the UNAM (CEPHCIS) hosted by the Ajau Group.
Following the conference, a second event gave recognition to the professor Raymundo Jaime Concha Echazarreta for allowing the Group Ajau to perform the research in the Cave of Eels found in the grounds of the Hacienda Kankirixche property . The writer Dante Salomo highlighted the atitude toward science and environmental care by Concha Echazarreta.
